Los Alamos, NM – The operators of Ski Pajarito in Los Alamos have shut down the resort’s lifts until more snow falls.
La Niña winters often bypass the U.S. Southwest, and Pajarito is feeling the pinch this season. “Due to warm, dry and windy La Niña conditions, Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is suspending operations until further adequate snow fall. When we receive additional snowfall we will reopen,” the resort’s website assures.
Pajarito operators have an agreement with nearby Angel Fire and Sipapu in New Mexico, and Monarch and Ski Cooper in Colorado, to provide Pajarito season passholders with three days of skiing or riding at each of these other resorts.
