Aspen Skiing Co. Employee Cited for Snowboarding Collision While On Break

Snowmass, CO – Snowmass police have cited an Aspen Skiing Co. employee for reckless snowboarding Saturday after he collided with a 7-year-old skier while on break from his job as a lift attendant.nTravis Lee Luffman, 22, of Woody Creek, was in his mountain uniform when he reportedly launched off a blind roll on the Green Cabin run near the base of the Coney Glade chairlift and collided with the boy. The victim, visiting from Brazil, was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital following the incident. No further information about his condition was available at press time.

The victim’s family was making a video recording at the time and captured the entire incident on film. Luffman was charged with “breach of skier duties,” a violation of the Colorado Ski Safety Act. Penalties for a conviction include a fine of up to $1,000.
