Champion, PA – State Police in Somerset County are investigating the death of a skier at Seven Springs Resort in Champion on Monday.

Witnesses indicate that David McClelland, 36, of Coraopolis, Penn., was skiing at a high rate of speed on Monday evening when he veered off a trail and into a rocky, wooded area around 6 p.m. He was unconscious when found by members of Seven Springs ski patrol and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 7 p.m.

Police indicated that they have no further details to release pending their investigation.
