McCall, ID – A snowy March has given Brundage Mountain just what it needs to extend its winter season. While the resort plans to be open seven days a week through April 8, officials on Thursday announced its first two “Bonus Weekends” of the season, April 14-5 and April 21-22, conditions permitting.
The snow base at Brundage mountain, currently standing at 72 inches at the bottom and 114 inches at the summit, is the deepest it’s been all season. The resort has tallied nearly five and a half feet in March before today’s storm which is expected to deliver up to a foot of additional fresh cover.
“Winter refuses to call it quits up here at Brundage,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell, “This latest blast of snow makes us confident that we can offer a great mountain experience at least through April 22.”
The resort will be assessing snow conditions and visitor interest in the coming weeks in hopes of adding even more bonus weekends. In recent years, Brundage has continued to operate on weekends well into the month of May.
Brundage is heading in to its final week of mid-week operations, and in the spirit of sharing their good fortune they are offering free skiing for all age groups Monday through Friday next week.
“This is no April Fool’s joke,” said Russell. “Visitors will need to go to the ticket window, but their tickets will be absolutely free.”
Regular pricing will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday. Lift tickets will be discounted by $10 for Bonus Weekends, and individuals who hold a current season pass at any other ski area will get an additional $5 off.
