Truckee, CA – You know that the ski and snowboard season is just around the corner when resorts start hiring winter seasonal staff.

Northstar California Resort has begun accepting applications and hiring for the more than 1,200 seasonal positions that will be available at the resort for the winter 2012-13 season. The resort is in search of service-oriented, professional employees to fill a variety of full-time, part-time and holiday seasonal positions. Those interested in winter employment are invited to apply to work in departments including the Northstar Ski & Snowboard School, transportation, lift operations, food and beverage, ski patrol, retail operations, lodging, product sales and service and more. On average, the resort employs a total of approximately 1,900 seasonal and year-round employees during the winter season.

Unlike previous years, the resort will not host traditional job fairs this season, rather the two job fair dates – Saturday, September 29 for the Ski & Snowboard School, and Saturday, October 13 for Resort-wide positions – will consist of large-scale, in-person interview days for those who applied in advance.

Benefits of working at Northstar can include a season pass valid at multiple Vail Resorts mountains, discounted dependent passes, discounts on food, beverage and retail items at the resort, complimentary and/or discounted lift tickets for friends and family, full benefits for full-time employees, access to ski and snowboard lessons, complimentary local area bus passes and more. Those who work at least 750 hours earn lodging discounts at other Vail Resorts properties, and the company offers 401K matching after 1,000 hours worked.

Applicants are encouraged to review available positions and apply now at www.jobs.vailresorts.com for a variety of positions both on and off the mountain. Not all positions require the ability to ski or snowboard. For those interested in attending the job fairs, applications must be completed online in advance.
