Vail, CO – American World Cup ski racer Lindsey Vonn remains in a Vail area hospital today with what is being reported as intestinal pain.
Vonn, 28, checked herself into the Vail Valley Medical Center on Monday with what was being described at that time as an “undisclosed illness.” Published reports this morning indicate that Vonn is presently undergoing testing for severe abdominal pain.
Although Vonn indicated that she opted to forego last weekend’s World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland in favor of continued training for the World Cup races in Aspen, Colo. later this month, reports that have surfaced today indicate that she hasn’t trained since going out in the second run of the season opening World Cup giant slalom in Soelden, Austria, on Oct. 27. She also canceled a promotional appearance in Vail this past Friday, citing illness.
The U.S. Ski Team, which indicated on Monday that it would issue an update on Vonn’s status as more information became available, hasn’t provided an update since first confirming yesterday that Vonn was hospitalized for an “undisclosed illness.”
