Winter Park, CO – A University of Kansas student was hospitalized in serious condition following a skiing accident at Winter Park Resort in Colorado last Wednesday.

Ellie Cizek, whose hometown was listed as St. Paul, Minn., was skiing on Winter Park’s Forget-Me-Not trail in Parsenn Bowl when she struck a tree on Wednesday afternoon. Cizek was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition.

Cizek, 20, was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The incident occurred on the same day that a Texas college student died after hitting a tree on the slopes at nearby Keystone Resort.
