Deer Valley Wants Blood

Park City, UT – Deer Valley is seeking blood on Halloween for the Utah ski resort’s 10th annual Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive. Held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Halloween, the blood drive is a tradition started by Deer Valley employees who wanted to help local health care facilities augment their blood supplies.

“This event has become a fun and worthwhile Halloween tradition at Deer Valley,” said Kim Mayhew, Deer Valley Resort director of human resources. “Many employees find it fun to dress up and come together in support of a worthy cause, and we encourage the public to join us in donating. Last year, we had more than 100 donors participate and the donations are greatly needed for treating local children and adults undergoing bone marrow transplants or suffering from cancer, burns, trauma, surgery or illness.”

Deer Valley’s Transylvania Tea Party will take place on the second level of Snow Park Lodge in the Clock Room from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. The current Deer Valley employee base is being encouraged to participate in full force, and the blood drive is open to any community members wishing to donate. Walk-ins are accepted, but Deer Valley staff does encourage donors to make an appointment by calling (435) 645-6654. Light refreshments will be provided.

Donors must come with a photo ID, be 18 or older (or at least 16 years old with parental permission slip), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. To find out if you are eligible to donate blood, please consult the ARUP Blood Services website at utahblood.org.
