    Jay Peak 2fer Offer

Talk about a hit and run! I've been so busy with my new job and skiing in between I haven't posted here much all season. I miss you guys but I hope things calm down soon and I can be more sociable. Anyway, to make up for lost time, I'm posting a message I got from Steve at Jay Peak about a...

    Ski Mountaineering in NE USA

Just back from a short hiatus. Tina, you certainly came to the right place. I'm from near Poughkeepsie, NY and I don't have much to add to what's been written. I've always considered the Presidentials to be the definition of Eastern ski mountaineering. You will find a wealth of info and...

    Sunday River, ME: 11/10/07

This sounds quite different from my day at Mt. Snow on 11/12. I didn't ski at Corinthia at all so I can't comment on that, but Canyon on the front face and Chute on the North Face of the summit were really good. Great snow, excellent coverage side to side. Just one or 2 thin spots on Canyon...

    I'm back!

Sorry I've been absent for a few weeks. In the midst of a job change...been real busy. The search appears to be winding down. Change is good...I was slowly dying in my old job. I'm 49 and saw no way to make my mark in life there. So I negotiated a separation package and left. The way things...

    Mt Baker Dec 2006

This one started too strong and now this response is a little too strong. Chris is trying to help, not bust balls. Again, here's a guy with alot of passion and his enthusiasm may get in the way of his words. Remind anyone of a guy who likes to ski bumps? Sorry, had to say that and I hope Chris...

    killington news ???????

I always respect Geoff's opinions. And this is the prevailing attitude amongst the half dozen or so property owners at Killington that I'm acquainted with...wait and see what happens this season.

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

Everyone has times when they're full of $&!% and your commentary belies your understanding of that fact. Folks react to Joe's passion...his strong opinions are his own worst enemy when it comes to being understood. Maybe it's my sales coaching background...I'm trained to see the underlying...

    Portillo, Chile, Sept. 6-7, 2007

Las Lenas is BIG. And I agree about the terrain choices. Almost endless. I guess I had good snow conditions when I was in Portillo. The high traverse was open every day I was there. Interestingly, the lake was not totally frozen when I was there and the Lake Chutes were not open all the way to...

    Telluride article

Let's play nice...Marc, Chris just volunteered to write articles for FTO. And he's a local. I know how tough it is to write reviews...I struggled with a book review for Marc last year. I think it's great that Chris offered and that he has so much passion to get the story right from a local's...

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

I don't agree with what these tree cutters did. And despite his strong and somewhat confrontational opinions, it really pains me to see posters getting on Joe. He has a passion for bump skiing. I think it's great to see someone that dedicated. I don't agree with everything he says, and I'm sure...

    killington news ???????

Joe, I hear you. I went on a rant on the subject on another website. Don't kill me for it, but I played devil's advocate and took POWDR's side in the argument. My purpose was to stimulate discussion. I got more than I bargained for including a phone call (who knows how they got my number) from...

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

Interesting take Marc...Jay has gotten alot more crowded, as has places like MRG. It's alot tougher to find virgin snow anywhere. Don't take this the wrong way...don't you think that websites like this one might contribute mightily to that phenomenon?

    Portillo, Chile, Sept. 6-7, 2007

Tony, which lines off of the high traverse (the short hike up and then traverse out to chutes that drop down to the Juncalillo lift) did you get to ski if any? I spent alot of time in that area when I was in Portillo. I also skied the chute directly above and to the right at the top of Roca...
