I'm getting ready to drive from SLC to Wash DC. Will take a route past Moab, into NM, up through CO, then across KS and points East. Will go silent probably for a week or two until I complete trip and settle back in Eastern locale. If I get some good photos I'll post a few.

Yeah Pow Mow is getting kinda wacky. I'm not that crazy about the place either, although it's got some marvelous intermediate cruising terrain as I remember. Sundance is pretty cheap, wanna say under $100 for a weekday?? PS: back to spring skiing today 11 May 2024 at Snowbird, super fun day:

My kids have houses in UT and FL (among other places). I wouldn't mind splitting the year between both, although maybe just the Fall in FL. Panama City Beach, Nov 2022, air temp 83F, water temp 77.

11 May 2024 was special for me at Snowbird, UT. Besides enjoying good times with good friends and good snow, this was my 70th and last ski day of the season. My wife and I drive east on Monday. 70 is a PR for ski days in a season. It also matches my age. Kinda like that symmetry! Hope you all...

This is useful feedback. When people ask, what is your favorite ski area? I usually say the Aspen Group. Love Highlands, Snowmass and Ajax, fabulous skiing at all three. Early March would be ideal there for weather and snow. Beautiful and not as crowded as I70. Problem is it's expensive...

Was up at Snowbird again on May 9th. Still real fine winter snow/skiing. But spring is coming back in a day or two. This is the top of the Little Cloud Chair, looked and felt a bit like January 9th :unsure:

I don't think there is any free skiing at age 70 in UT now. Nordic Valley may be free at 75. Senior freebies are not always easy to track and ski areas change prices and qualifying ages quite a bit. The two I skied this year for free were Massanutten, VA (4 times) and Monarch, CO (2 times)...
