Hey Rob did you ski Tues ? Didn't think so. Please don't tell me to put my chains on when your in your living room in NY. I don't post here because I think it's okay to say that a bad day skiing is better than a good day at work. I find many of the snow reports on this site to be very positive...

things to do in Vancouver with the Family (summer time)

Whistler is a two hour greyhound bus ride from Vancouver, very scenic ride up the Pacific coast line. Brings your skis and burn some turns on the Blackcomb Hortsman glacier. The bumps are incredible, cost about $50 for a public ski day pass. Lots to do for the family at the resort like mountain...

What should I do on Sunday? Jay, Stowe or Bush?

I skied Stowe on Wednesday April 19th. They have the four runner quad operating, the gondy is closed. Centerline to Hayride was a great bump run with easy access to the quad. Liftline to National was a nice run, all bumped, and nose dive to cliff trail was a nice runs you just have a short walk...

Eastern Closing Dates (planned or probable)

Thats a good plan Bob. I skied Bretton's last day last year on May 11th. Bretton had one groomed  trail but it was 60 degrees and sunny, I hiked a trail after lunch and had a couple of Coronas :D. I agree Bretton will be the last resort in New England open this year. I think they still use...

    STOWE

I skied Stowe Monday and Tuesday. Perfect conditions, the snow was firm early Monday and softened up beautifully by noon. Monday was 50 degrees and Tuesday was 60 degrees. If anyone is planning a trip to Stowe, there should be plenty of snow this weekend but it's going fast.

    why bump skiers rule

Skied Waterville yesterday, 60 degrees the bumps were sweet. Great day. One of my 2004 lunar skis got bowed. I think a cracked the inside wood core. The ski just rides on top of the snow no matter how much I try to drive the shovel of the ski into the front of the bump. I noticed it in the...

Anyone see the marketing poll Killington has on its main website? On the lower right side of screen is an interactive trail map with an NCAA style poll for trails. Outer Limits is the only bump run left on the poll. Cast a vote for OL if you get a chance. Day trip to Waterville tomorrow :D I...

    why bump skiers rule

I went to Killington on Friday and watched the WC event. It was great to see to local skiers win the event David Babic and Hanna Kearney each took first place. I watched the event standing between the 1st and 2nd jumps. I enjoyed watching the women skiers more than the men. The women focus...

    why bump skiers rule

I concur Jim, The bumps a waterville were sweet  It was soft and sunny, perfect bump weather. My legs are toast, I though the season was ending but looks like some cold weather and flurries wil keep ski season alive :D Anyone know if Killington has bumps for the public on Bear Mtn? I'm...

    why bump skiers rule

I'm heading for Waterville Sunday. It's just a two hour ride from Boston. I'm hoping they didn't groom the sweet bump run from last week. Sunday, I'm hoping for light rain to keep the lift lines down and soften the bumps. Any one know if Killington has any bumps? Seems like they missed the...

    why bump skiers rule

I checked out the Mogul Logic website. I have watched Chuck Martins video but that website is great. The Sami video is interesting how he bends his kness laterally across his body. My interest in shoulder suppression is because I tend to leave my ski pole behind my body after a pole plant and I...

    why bump skiers rule

I have been trying to follow this post in regards to shoulder supression. First of all I have never been able to use my shoulders to shift my weight on to the downhill ski. Recently, I have been attempted to shift my shoulders laterally on to my down hill ski. When I attempt to shift I...

    WATERVILLE VALLEY BUMPS

I skied WV Tues and Wed. They have seeded bumps on skiers left of Old Temcumseh top to bottom  =D>. If they had this all year I would ski no where else. The bumps are on skiers left taking up about 1/3 of 1 trail. WV is a small mountain with 52 trails. WHY can't every mountain give 1/3 of...

    Hellmets, are they cool?

I agree that helmets are essential today. The reason they are essential is because the average skier tries to ski like Bode Miller but has no control over his/her skis or board. I think the real discussion here should be why Ski Patrolers don't pull out of control skiers aside and educate...

Anyone know where I can get a Pair of Dynastar Twisters...

I don't know where to get a pair of twisters.I ski Fischer Lunars. The lunar appears to have less of a side cut than the twister but it has a 26m turn radius which I think is a bigger radius than the twister. Unfortunately, we don't get much powder skiing in the east so I don't bother with a...

Great discussion, I recently purchased Dan Dipro's book and it is a must read for any wanna be bump skier like myself. I also learned alot from this thread alone. I hope we can keep up the discuss as the season gets under way.
