Mt Warning - New South Wales

We took the 90 minute drive this morning to climb up Mt Warning or Wollumbin as the aboriginal people know it as.
Now Mt Warning is not Mont Blanc and Murwillumbah the town in the valley closest to the hill is not Chamonix that’s for sure but it’s a nice day out.
The 6 mile round trip hike takes between 3 and 5 hours dependant in the fitness of the hikers. It took us about 3.5 hours. Most of the walk is through fairly dense rainforest. The last few hundred metres is a hands and feet scramble up a rock face. The views from the top are nice but would have been better if a little less hazy. To the east is the Pacific Ocean and Gold Coast beaches. It is said to be the first part of mainland Australia to experience sunrise but we climbed it in the late morning.
I’ve got a torn meniscus in my left knee so the walk down gave me some trouble. It will take a few days to settle down I think. (I really need my knee to improve quickly as I’ll be in Hokkaido for early season turns in December).
I’ll post a few pics. I hope they don’t load upside down or sideways like last time. I’m a tech dunce. :-D
