With temperatures pushing close to triple digits in the Salt Lake Valley today, AmyZ, Bobby Danger and I decided to recreate at altitude in the Uinta Mountains, where temps only hit the high 70s. Bobby was overly optimistic and brought his skis, but upon seeing just how little snow was left we hiked the Lofty Lake Loop in a clockwise direction, with a side trip to the top of the trail-less, unnamed 11,113-foot mountain just south of Lofty Lake.

Finally, check out how much these dogs love snow!

I've never, ever before seen a dog just roll downhill through snow.

That's Bigfoot territory, right there. Utah's very own Bermuda Triangle, with unexplained disappearances. Shoulda stayed overnight.

Nah, all of those disappearances can be explained with two words: Boy Scouts.

It is indeed Boy Scouts for the most part but... there are some vivid descriptions on certain threads in backcountrypost.com. I am talking two sets of eyes meeting, for a subjective eternity.
That is why I wished you had stayed overnight -- I wanted a Vulcan take on all of this.
That you may have been eaten alive was only a side benefit.

No, I mean that those who disappear in that area are invariably lost boy scouts.
