A couple of threads this winter referenced a ski map that I keep on my PC as a reference.
One summer, when I had way too much free time on my hands , I crafted a map of North America using Microsoft Streets and Trips that shows the location of every ski area that I could find reference to in the U.S. and Canda. Double-click in the map on any ski area icon and you get the name, address, and web link. Click on the web link and it automatically opens the ski area's website in a web browser window. Zoom in down to street level.
Experimentally, I've put a rudimentary version of the map on the web here:
http://www.firsttracksonline.com/skimap ... merica.htm
That page includes a rudimentary overview map, with a set of links to regional enlargements. The regional maps don't name the ski area, per se, but do link to the ski area's website (if it exists) by clicking on the icon. Mousing over the icon displays the website in the status bar, thus hinting at which ski area it is.
Also, for those who own Microsoft Streets and Trips, there's a link on each page to download the full interactive map to your PC.
Feedback is welcome.
