Windells Installing Second Private Ski Lift on Mount Hood

Government Camp, OR – Windells Action Sports Camp is installing a second portable ski lift to its snowboard and ski terrain park at Timberline Ski Area on Oregon’s Mount Hood. The 730-T wire rope tow lift, available only to campers, will give Windells two lifts and the longest private tows available at Timberline.n“The days of our campers having to boot back up to make another lap on our world class parks are gone,” said Tim Windell, owner of Windells Action Sports Camps. “This summer we will have 2,400 feet of private lift access for our campers. Now the kids can shred from the top of our area to the bottom and rest as they take the lift back up the mountain to hit it all over again. Now they won’t become tired of hiking, but tired from doing too many laps on the mountain.”

The 730-T wire rope tow lift has a maximum speed of 400 feet per minute and is portable so it can be moved as snow conditions change. That allows Windells to maximize the entire area on Timberline.

Last year, Windells was the first to bring this style of portable tow lifts to the U.S. They are now the only camp/academy in the U.S. to have two lifts solely for their campers and academy students.

Installation will be complete for 2010 Summer Camps that start June 6th and run through August 20th.
