Breckenridge, CO – This month marks the 10th anniversary of Breckenridge’s Spring Massive Festival, the largest ever staged in this Colorado ski resort town. The town and the mountain will welcome visitors to a dozen different events beginning today and running through the ski area’s closing on Sunday, Apr. 18.nThe 2010 Spring Massive kicks off with a Bite of Breckenridge. Visit your favorite restaurants in Breckenridge or try news ones during this town-wide event that allows guests to sample high quality restaurant fare at reasonable prices throughout Spring Massive.
This coming weekend hosts the first of many events with both the Kids Easter party weekend on-mountain, and KSMT’s annual Massive Beer festival in town. The Kids Easter party includes everything from Ripperoo’s Mini World Cup to an Avalanche Dog Expo. The beer festival at Main Street Station will highlight at least 20 breweries from around the country, plus live music.
From Apr. 9-11, Breckenridge will host the Massive Open Competition Weekend, bringing together nationally recognized ski and snowboard competitors, world-class venues and local amateurs on one stage. It also brings a new competition to Spring Massive, The 5 Peaks, North America’s longest ski mountaineering race with 10,000 feet of vertical and five separate ascents in the Ten Mile Range.
During closing weekend, Bud Light and Breckenridge present the free season-end concert with headliner The Bravery on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 4 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.
