This Weekend’s Launch of Sunsation at Copper to Feature Alt Games and Free Concerts by Lotus and Pepper

Copper Mountain, CO – Copper Mountain’s Sunsation celebration kicks off its 10th year this weekend with free, live music at the Colorado ski and snowboard resort by headliners Lotus and Pepper, as well as Passafire, Rey Fresco, These United States, and The Expendables. On the slopes, the 2010 Alt Games College Snowboarding and Freeskiing Open Championships are set for Copper’s Catalyst Terrain Park.nSunsation Sessions also return this year with evening performances starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, with live music by Lotus and DJ Rootz. The Sunsation Session performance is a ticketed event in the Bighorn Room of the Copper Conference Center. Some of the country’s best collegiate skiers and riders will be throwing down for their share of a $7,000 prize pool during the 2010 Alt Games College Snowboarding and Freeskiing Open Championships on Saturday. The Alt Games are tentatively scheduled to air on The CBS College Sports Network on April 22 and 25 at 8 p.m. EDT. Event coverage will also be included in the one-hour Highlight Show airing on CBS Sports on Saturday, June 19 at 5 p.m. EDT.

Copper’s Sunsation will continue with week two April 17-18 with free, live music by headliners Steel Pulse, Perpetual Groove and Los Lonely Boys, in addition to BC/DC, Pato Banton & The Now Generation, and The White Buffalo. In conjunction with the final weekend of Sunsation, teams of skiers channeling their inner 70s groove and retro ski skills will unite at Copper for the Finals of the Red Bull 1976 Games, April 16 and 17. The Red Bull 1976 Games brings the games back to Colorado and finally “give the year 1976 its day”…or two.
