Carrabassett Valley, ME – With snow melting and the grass and leaves beginning to take hold, Sugarloaf in Maine will open the back nine at the Sugarloaf Golf Club for the final weekend of the 2010 ski and snowboard season, this Saturday and Sunday. Guests at Sugarloaf this weekend will have the unique opportunity to “Ski and Tee” – ski in the morning and play nine holes of golf in the afternoon, or vice versa.nThe May 1 date marks one of the earliest dates in the 25-year history of the Sugarloaf Golf Club that the course has been playable.

“The course has come through the winter in some of the best shape we’ve ever seen, and we thought this would be a fun and unique way to cap off what has been a great winter season,” said Brad Larsen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sugarloaf. “It’s not often that a resort can offer lift serviced skiing and golf in the same day.”

Greens fees for nine holes will cost $25 this weekend for the general public, or just $10 for anyone who shows a lift ticket or New England Pass valid for that day.

Sugarloaf is currently the only ski resort still open east of Colorado, and is offering skiing and riding on 24 trails, serviced by two lifts. Spring lift tickets cost $35 for all ages through the end of the season this Sunday.

Following the Ski and Tee Weekend the course will close again until its scheduled opening date of May 28.
