Why the name, “Kingdom Days?” Breckenridge was inadvertently left off a U.S. map in the mid-1800s and became known as “Colorado’s Kingdom” until the mistake was discovered nearly a half a century later in 1936 when it was finally incorporated. So began the quirky character of Breckenridge that lives on today. Kingdom Days is a way for both visitors and locals of all ages to experience the lure of Breckenridge to the adventurous gold prospectors of the past and the modern day snow prospectors of the present, still in search of adventure.
