Squaw Valley, CA – In addition to mountaintop ice skating, dining, swimming, tennis and hiking, summer guests at Squaw Valley USA will this year find mountain biking, paintball, zip-lining and disc golf at the Lake Tahoe-area ski and snowboard resort.nMountain biking returns to Squaw Valley this summer. With the most vertical of any bike park in Tahoe, Squaw Valley will offer a downhill trail with freeride elements and cross-country trails. Bikers can ride Squaw’s Cable Car to access the terrain by purchasing a day bike ticket. Mountain biking is slated to open mid- to late-summer depending on snow melt conditions.
To accommodate bikers, Squaw Valley is also opening a new bike rental shop at the base of the mountain. Starting June 12, the shop will rent downhill bikes and trail bikes as well as comfort cruisers for use on the renowned Truckee River Bike Path. Safety gear, attachable trail-a-bikes and trailers for children will also be available for rent.
Paintball is coming to Squaw Valley this summer. Squaw Valley’s paintball arena will open at High Camp, Squaw’s mountaintop oasis for summer activities. Paintball will be open daily starting mid-summer, and semi-automatic paintball guns, masks and safety equipment will be available for rent on-site. Open to the general public, Squaw Valley’s paintball will also be available for parties, corporate events and team building exercises.
Kids can soar over the mountain this summer on a new zip-line scheduled to open mid-summer pending snow melt conditions.
Squaw Valley has also added 18 holes of disc golf at elevation 8,200’. The course is slated to open mid-summer at High Camp pending snow melt conditions. Discs will be available for rent and for purchase at the High Camp Bath and Tennis Shop.
