Government Camp, OR – The Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl ski area in Government Camp opens this Saturday with over 20 summertime attractions.nActivities range from a relaxing chairlift ride to the Northwest’s only half-mile dual Alpine Slide. Visitors have over 1,500 vertical feet of lift-served mountain biking trails to explore, or for those who prefer staying on two feet, there are hiking trails, disc golf, dining options and the gift shop at the West side of the park.
The park’s East side features Indy carts, a 100-foot freefall bungee tower, zip line, batting cages, horseback trail tours, rapid riser “reverse bungee”, kid’s fun zone, kiddie karts, kiddie canoe, summer tube hill, bungee trampoline, the Northwest’s highest portable climbing wall and more.
Beginning Saturday, Skibowl’s adventure park will be open daily for the summer season. This weekend’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For rates and other information, visit www.skibowl.com.
And skiers and snowboarders should remember that nearby Timberline Ski Area, just up the hill from Skibowl on Mt. Hood, is one of only two ski areas still operating in the U.S. It’s easy to combine a morning of skiing on Timberline’s Palmer Snowfield with an afternoon of summer activities at Skibowl.
