Summer Activities Open This Weekend at Park City-Area Ski Resorts

Park City, UT – Summer activities kick off this weekend at ski resorts surrounding the Wasatch Mountain community of Park City, Utah.nAt Deer Valley Resort, lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides will be available from Snow Park Lodge via the Silver Lake Express chairlift and from mid-mountain via the Sterling Express chairlift beginning today. Lift tickets, bike
rentals and lessons are available from both Mountain Bike Rental Shops, located at Snow Park Lodge or outside Silver Lake Lodge at mid-mountain, where repairs and essential equipment for riders are also available. Deer Valley’s rental fleet is comprised of full-suspension Giant mountain bikes and rentals include a helmet and complimentary water bottle.

Full-day lift tickets cost $29 for mountain biking, or $20 for a single ride. Summer season passes are also available. Scenic ride rates cost $16 for adults on the Sterling Express or $9 on Silver Lake Express, with discounts for children and seniors.

Deer Valley operates its own Mountain Bike School, offering scheduled clinics and tours for all abilities. The Mountain Bike School is available at either Snow Park Lodge or mid-mountain next to Silver Lake Lodge. Summer fun gets underway today as well at The Canyons Resort, with free concerts in the Resort Village, mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, the Park City Farmers’ Market, kids summer camps and numerous other happenings and adventures throughout the summer. Rides on the Flight of The Canyons gondola to a scenic 8,000 feet of elevation cost $15, and tickets can be purchased at Canyon Mountain Sports in the Resort Village. From there, hop on the High Meadow lift for easier access to mountain biking/hiking trails and disc golf on an 18-hole disc golf course completed last summer, free with a gondola lift ticket. Discs can be rented from Canyon Mountain Sports.

The Red Pine Café atop the gondola will be serving lunch and weekend brunch, and guests who have purchased a gondola pass will receive a 10% discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Park City Farmers’ Market takes place on from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Cabriolet parking lot.

The Canyons will keep kids entertained with Summer Kid’s Camps for those 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Activities include swimming, yoga, hiking, arts and crafts, gondola rides, field trips and more. Information is available at www.thecanyons.com/summer_camp.html.

On July 3rd, The Canyons will host its annual Independence Day celebration featuring a free concert from the Disco Drippers and a massive fireworks display in the Resort Village. Then starting on July 17th through August 28th, every Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Resort Village, The Canyons Resort will host its Free Saturday Evening Concert Series presented by Zions Bank. The line-up is as follows:

  • July 31: Langhorne Slim
  • August 7: Cracker
  • August 14: Railroad Earth
  • August 21: Dangermuffin
  • August 28: Chuck Prophet

Park City Mountain Resort’s (PCMR) lift-served mountain biking has been open for the season since June 9th. Summer ops are now in full swing at the resort, featuring the ZipRider, alpine slide, Alpine Coaster, scenic chairlift rides and mountain hiking. Activities carry different prices, or combination tickets may be purchased. An all-day lift pass to ride the PayDay and Town Lift chairlifts costs $18 for mountain bikers, or $11 for a single ride.

PCMR’s base area is filled with activities including a climbing wall, Legacy Launcher, Little Miner’s Park and miniature golf, along with a variety of food and beverage options. An All-In-One Park Pass is discounted until June 26.
