Taos Ski Valley, NM – Taos Mountain Music Festival organizers have confirmed that Yonder Mountain String Band will be appearing at this year’s festival in Taos Ski Valley to wrap up the summer. Yonder Mountain String Band will be joining headliner, Gov’t Mule, along with a full festival lineup performing throughout Sunday, September 5 in the northern New Mexico ski resort.n”We are very excited to have Gov’t Mule and Yonder Mountain String Band on the bill for the 2nd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival,” says Taos Ski Valley’s Event Director, Alejandro Blake. “We anticipate they, along with the other acts slated to be on the bill, will attract many enthusiastic music fans to our beautiful mountain town”.
Yonder Mountain String Band, known in short by their fans as YMSB or Yonder, have established a loyal fan base around the country since emerging from their home of Nederland, Colo. eleven years ago. The foursome plays a blend of bluegrass, rock and other musical influences that have helped them create an original genre-defying sound.
More bands will be added to the 2nd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival lineup over the coming weeks, organizers indicate. This outdoor festival in Taos Ski Valley is situated on four acres of land with a backdrop of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the surrounding Carson National Forest. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. and festival-goers are urged to arrive early and claim their spot. Once settled, attendees can enjoy “Strawberry Fair,” the festival’s marketplace, where they can check out circus entertainers, shop for crafts from local artisans and sample food from area vendors and restaurants. For $5 children can enter the “Kidzone” and go wild in the jump castle, get their faces painted, play games, even learn to play the drums.
This Labor Day, Taos Ski Valley will host activities for everyone to enjoy all weekend long, including Movies in the Mountains, guided hikes to Wheeler Peak, New Mexico’s highest, and live bands in bars surrounding the festival grounds.
