New Ski Trail, Increased Glade Skiing Next Winter at Echo Mountain

Idaho Springs, CO – Crews at Colorado’s Echo Mountain ski area west of Denver are beginning construction this week on a new beginner trail and expanded glade skiing.nWork is expected to last six to eight weeks, with the new terrain opening in time for the 2010-11 ski and snowboard season. Echo Mountain sits on 240 privately-owned acres, with approximately 35 percent of the terrain developed for skiing and riding.

Echo Mountain officials have indicated that the trees harvested for the new terrain will be used for erosion control, building new terrain features and marking trails.
