Nederland, CO – A heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday left torrents of water near Nederland that washed out at least two roadways, including County Road 130 that leads to Eldora Mountain ski area.nThe roadway was rendered impassable by washouts and up to eight inches of hail. Snowplows were called out to clear the hail from the road. National Weather Service officials estimate that three to four inches of rain fell during a two-hour period on Wednesday. A flash flood warning remained in effect until 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening. County Road 128 was also hit by washouts and rock slides.
Information regarding efforts to restore the roadway in time for ski season was not yet available at press time.
