Drug Sweep Nabs Ski Resort Employees in Australia

Jindabyne (NSW), Australia – Thredbo and Perisher ski resort employees were among those arrested by authorities who conducted a sweeping drug raid in the Snowy Mountains on Wednesday.nPolice arrested 13 people ranging in age from 19 to 31 in and around Jindabyne. Those arrested included seasonal ski resort employees and local residents. Over AUD$40,000 worth of ecstasy, LSD, cocaine, speed and marijuana, as well as illegal weapons were seized by the more than 80 police officers carrying out the raids.

Police indicate that the investigation, which lasted for more than a year leading up to the raids, indicates an entrenched drug network surrounding the ski resorts.

Police also indicated that further arrests are pending.
