Warren, VT – Vermont’s Sugarbush Resort has initiated two major construction projects this summer, and both are slated to be ready for the 2010-11 ski and snowboard season.n

Skiers and riders arriving at Lincoln Peak this winter will discover a new entrance plaza and two new base lodges. The new white Schoolhouse building will be home to the resort’s Micro, Mini and Sugar Bear winter programs, will house après-ski activities for children, and will also be the center of their summer programs. The brown Farmhouse lodge will house a new Sunrise Café, ticket and season pass sales, public storage lockers and restrooms on the first floor, and the adult ski school, rentals and repairs on the second floor.

Sugarbush officials are also currently replacing the snowmaking pipes leading to Lincoln Peak along the Sugarbush Access Road, as well as those on German Flats Road leading to the resort’s compressor building at Mt. Ellen. While completion of this work was not essential this summer, the right material and labor costs allowed the resort to go forward with the project.

“We are committed to making Sugarbush better each year,” says resort president Win Smith. “This new infrastructure will last for several decades and will ensure the integrity of our snowmaking systems.”
