Queenstown, New Zealand – The fastest New Zealanders in the junior categories were named 2010 Junior Champions this week by Snow Sports New Zealand (SSNZ).nTaylor Rapley and Adam Barwood took top honors in the female and male Junior 2 category in both Giant Slalom and Slalom, held at Coronet Peak ski area near Queenstown. Emily Wright became women’s Junior 1 National Champion in both Giant Slalom and Slalom while the Men’s Giant Slalom Junior 1 National Champion title went to Fraser McGlinn and the Men’s Slalom Junior 1 National Championship winner was Harry Izard-Price.
Sarah Jarvis, of Whakapapa, defended both the GS and Slalom titles while Ohakune’s Ben Griffin defended his GS title and Tim Cafe (Queenstown) captured the 2010 National Slalom Champion title.
The competition now moves to Mt. Hutt with Super G scheduled for this Monday.
