Stowe Opening a New Vermont Venue for the Performing Arts

Stowe, VT – The Spruce Peak Arts Center will open its doors to the public in December. Developed to operate year-round as a major component of the Vermont ski and snowboard resort, the performing arts center is envisioned as a venue for a wide spectrum of events; theater, music, dance, comedy, film, lectures and multimedia presentations.n”The Arts Center will be the creative and cultural soul of Spruce Peak. An eclectic range of events and exhibitions featuring established and emerging artists will inspire, educate and entertain residents, guests and the greater Stowe community,” said Walter Frame, President of the Arts Center Foundation.

The Arts Center will open in the Village at Spruce Peak near the previously opened Stowe Mountain Lodge and Spruce Camp base lodge. Phase II of Stowe Mountain Lodge will also debut this December with an additional 136 slopeside guest rooms.

The 420-seat multipurpose hall, with minimal separation between audience and stage, provides flexibility that includes the extension of seating onto the stage, the use of galleries for performers, plus reception and banquet facilities. Technical works include tension grid mechanical space over the stage for lighting and scenery, a lighting bridge and catwalk over the auditorium and an equipment room for sound, projection and recording.
