Holladay, UT – Noah Howell, co-founder of Utah’s Powderwhore Productions, says that last season’s El Niño winter forced them to climb further, dig deeper and flat out try harder in order to create “TeleVision”, this year’s film of the top telemark skiers in the world playing in untracked powder mixed with big lines, humor, flight time, spills, and all the required deep face shots of good ski porn.n”So put on your snuggie and top off the bowl of Cheetos while you enjoy the program,” says Howell. “This year feature includes huge Alaskan lines in the Chugach ripped to shreds by the lovely and talented Megan Michelson, Telemark World Champion Paul Kimbrough, and young phenom Jake Sakson.”
Our staff at First Tracks!! Online watched a review copy of “TeleVision” on the flat screen last night. While the TV remote theme is kitschy but clever, the film is dominated by big telemark skiing on big lines, from the fluted spires surrounding Haines, Alaska, to a park sequence featuring Ty Dayberry and multiple segments filmed in the Powderwhores’ Wasatch back yard. In between, Sakson shows off his “apartment” — a converted Econoline ambulance — and Michelson “appears” on America’s Top Model.
“Resident Powderwhores Noah Howell and Jason West take care of business as usual on their home slopes of the Wasatch Mountains,” Howell explains. “Another successful trip to the remote peaks of Haines, Alaska, puts Nick Devore, Andy Jacobsen, Will Cardamone, and Chris Erickson on top of the steepest lines ever touched by telemark skis. Andrew McLean, Noah Howell, Jim Harris, and Courtney Phillips venture deep into Alaska’s Revelation Mountains to explore and ski first descents. Ty Dayberry flips and spins his way back onto the screen as only he can do. And of course, we deliver our deepest powder feast ever, starring Paige Brady, Will Cardamone, Chris Erickson, and Jake Sakson, all smothered by the greatest snow on earth.”
Powderwhores will kick off their annual film tour in Salt Lake City on Sept. 29 at Brewvies, with shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. They will repeat the experience Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Proceeds will benefit the Utah Avalanche Center.
