Cap Breton, France – With summer almost gone and winter around the corner, there are nearly a hundred days left until World Snowboard Day, which will launch the winter season in more than 40 countries all over the world.nAs it does every year, the international snowboard community will mobilize on Sunday, Dec. 19 and give the general public the opportunity to try snowboarding. The event’s concept is simple: the worldwide snowboard federations, schools, clubs, shops, resorts and riders offer a number of free activities to beginners and advanced snowboarders for one day. Introductions to snowboarding, product demos, contests, pro rider signings, concerts, parties, environmental awareness, and more fill the schedule.
Since its creation in 2006, World Snowboard Day has seen its event locations quadruple to reach 139 in 2009. With about 1,900 activities and more than 70,000 participants, World Snowboard Day has become a key annual event for the international snowboard community.
More information and a schedule of activities will be posted at www.world-snowboard-day.com.
