Griffin and Jarvis Take Top Spots in JUCY NZ Alpine Cup

Methven, New Zealand – New Zealanders Ben Griffin and Sarah Jarvis have been crowned winners of the inaugural JUCY NZ Alpine Cup in recognition of their overall top results this Southern Hemisphere ski racing season.nBoth Griffin, of Ohakune, and Jarvis, from Whakapapa, will receive personal JUCY vehicles for the 2011 season
in recognition of their performances in 2010.

Griffin easily won the men’s title, garnering 378 points over the course of the season, including strong
performances in giant slalom that significantly improved his world rankings. Jarvis edged out Taylor Rapley, 295 points to 265 points, to capture the Ladies’ JUCY New Zealand Alpine Cup title.

“The series was a great incentive for the athletes. It definitely created a spirited competition within each race,” acknowledged SSNZ Alpine Manager, James Lazor. “We appreciate everything JUCY has done to support the
New Zealand Alpine programme and for their commitment to our sport. I’d also like to recognize Kneissl for
providing the trophies for the series winners.”

The JUCY NZ Alpine Cup started with the Japanese FIS races at Coronet Peak and finished at the ANC
Finals at Mt. Hutt. Points were awarded from each race based on the World Cup points system. The overall
winners had the most accumulated points over the series.
