Denver, CO – From Jan. 27-30, 2011, the ski and snowboard industry will take over downtown Denver to celebrate their passion for all things snow. The 2011 SnowSports Industries America (SIA) Snow Show will once again present the newest snow sports trends, innovations, educational seminars, product presentations, personalities, events, concerts, meetings, and parties for industry members. A couple of key events will be staged for the general public as well.nShow attendees will view full color lines and major trends for winter 2011-12 at the show, meeting with key principals, and networking with industry leaders face to face.
“I see the SIA Snow Show as a gathering of the tribe. It’s a place to run into tons of friends, old and new, see all the latest gear, explore new lines, and formulate our plan for the next snow year,” said Benny Pellegrino, owner of Milosport in Orem, Utah.
The SIA show was held for many years in Las Vegas, Nev., before moving to Denver for the first time last season. The move allowed for close proximity to skiing and riding to test the following winter’s equipment on snow. “Our first year in Denver was such a great experience for everyone in the industry – we’re really excited to be implementing our plans for the 2011 Snow Show,” said David Ingemie, SIA President. “There’s going to be some new events plus a few surprises we’ll be announcing in the upcoming months.” After last year’s inaugural On-Snow Demo, the Show will again be followed by the On-Snow Demo and Ski-Ride Fest, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, at Winter Park Resort and Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The international two-day event will again be filled with demos, parties, races, and catching up with industry friends. The Demo will be held in conjunction with the WWSRA (Western Winter Sports Representatives Association) Rocky Mountain Demo, which has extensive experience in hosting on-snow demos for reps and retailers in the active sports industry. New this year, WWSRA will be adding an extra day to the demo, Feb. 2, to further accommodate the reps and retailers in the Rocky Mountain Region. SIA is also working with CCSAA (Cross Country Ski Areas Association) for the Nordic portion of the demo. Getting the public involved in the vibe of the Snow Show as well, a USSA Big Air Ski Exhibition is slated for Jan. 25 in conjunction with the show and the Registration and hotel reservations are now open for the 2011 Snow Show and On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest. A variety of Denver properties are currently offering “Early Bird Rates” that expire on Sept. 30 or until the discounted rooms are filled, whichever happens first. United Airlines is also offering a special SIA discount. For more information visit siasnowshow.snowsports.org
