Ski Utah Names Two Ultimate Powderhounds

Salt Lake City, UT – After much deliberation by the judges and ample fan input, Ski Utah has named both Matthew Baydala and Catherine Killfoil to the Ski Utah blogging team as the Ultimate Powderhounds.n“This was an incredibly fierce competition,” said Ski Utah Communications Director Jessica Kunzer. “Resort personnel, Ski Utah and the public put a lot of careful thought and energy into selecting the Ultimate Powderhounds. We are thrilled to have Matt and Catherine join the team.”

Baydala, originally from Rockville Centre, N.Y., sniffed his way to Park City, Utah in 2006. Since then, he has built a career as a Park City restaurant manager to accommodate his skiing lifestyle. His passion and appreciation for the diversity of Utah’s wintersports product make him the perfect Powderhound.

“For me skiing The Greatest Snow on Earth is not just a hobby, it’s an obsession,” exclaimed Baydala. “Now I have the opportunity to share this awesome life we live out here with the entire skiing community.”

Killfoil’s parody of the Old Spice man commercial quickly generated a positive reaction from Facebook fans. Killfoil was born in Connecticut but has lived in many western states including Texas, Washington and California. Killfoil currently resides in Park City.

The Ultimate Powderhound winners will join Thomas Cooke, Jodi Saeland and the Ski Utah Yeti on the blogging team. The Ski Utah Blog will kick off its editorial season Oct. 15. Baydala is also a regular participant in First Tracks!! Online Ski Magazine’s “Liftlines” user forums, found at www.FirstTracksOnline.com/boards, using the nickname “mbaydala”.
