Ski Film Festival and Crosstoberfest to Herald Winter’s Arrival at Sun Valley

Sun Valley, ID – The advent of winter is arriving in Idaho, and Sun Valley is celebrating with two special events: the Sun Valley “Harvest, A Gathering of Film”, Oct. 22-23, and “Crosstoberfest”, Oct. 30-31.nThe First Annual Harvest, A Gathering of Film is set to show in the venerable Idaho ski and snowboard resort this Friday and Saturday. The Harvest will feature the new ski film “Eye Trip” by Level 1, a special appearance by Director and Producer Josh Berman and athletes starring in the film including Wiley Miller, Tom Wallisch and others.

Another first will be the local premiere of Stan Evans’ “Say My Name”. Traveling to Sun Valley with the Director Producer will be film athletes Grete Eliassen, Winter X-Games gold medalist and Lynsey Dyer, the world’s top extreme female skier.

The event kicks off this Friday at Apple’s Bar & Grill with an open house, autograph session and film submission viewing. At 7 p.m. local premieres will be viewed, starting with TGR’s “Light The Wick”. At 9:30 p.m. the party moves on to Whiskey Jacque’s.

On Saturday, the Sun Valley Opera House will host an open house at 2 p.m. and will include film submission viewing, an autograph session and special lawn exhibitions. “Say My Name” will be shown at 6 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. the Awards Ceremony will begin.

Level 1’s “Eye Trip” premieres at 8 p.m. The festival will conclude with a farewell party at 9:30 p.m. at The Roosevelt Grille.

The next weekend, Sun Valley Resort and Sun Valley Road and Dirt will stage Crosstoberfest 2010 at River Run Plaza. This weekend-long Bavarian style festival celebrates cyclo-cross bike racing with the Idaho State Championships, a preview of the upcoming winter season’s skiwear, sales on skis and snowboards, free kid’s activities and seasonal food and beer gardens.
The festival is set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 31.
