Bretton Woods, NH – Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area by acreage, just got bigger with the addition of 30 gladed acres on Mt. Stickney for the 2010-11 ski and snowboard season.nThe new glades are the start of the resort’s long-awaited Mt. Stickney expansion and will offer what Bretton Woods officials are referring to as “a classic New England backcountry experience.” A traverse off the Two Miles Home run will provide access a variety of terrain including powder stashes and steep tree shots, along with other diverse glade skiing and riding.
“We are very excited to be able to offer our guests even more tree skiing this winter. The Mt. Stickney expansion has been on the table for many years, and it feels good to get it started,” says Chris Ellms, director of ski operations at Bretton Woods. “Everyone at the resort is looking forward to the 2010-11 season, and with the addition of new terrain to our top ranked snowmaking and an exceptional staff, we are ready to greet our guests with the best ski experience possible.”
Bretton Woods officials are also establishing a new public slalom course this winter, set with 20 to 30 brush gates and a portable, automatic timer to practice your racing skills. There will be no entry fee, just ski or ride up and go. The Carving Course will be set up on either Range View or Fabyan’s Express, depending on snow conditions, so check the resort’s snow report during the season for the latest details.
