Killington, VT – Killington Resort is inviting skiers and snowboarders to the Loaded Turkey Rail Jam on Sunday, Nov. 21, the Vermont ski resort’s first rail jam of the season where competitors battle on the rail setup in the early season terrain park on Reason.n“We’re kicking off the season with a rail jam, good ol’ Thanksgiving style” stated Tess Hobbs, Killington Resort’s events coordinator.
The competition begins at 11:00 a.m. when each competitor will take two qualifying runs, the better of which will count toward making the finals. After the completion of the qualifying round, the finalists will be announced. The finals will be an open jam format from 1:45 – 2:15 p.m. broken down into four categories.
Winners will receive a frozen turkey and free entry to the Rails 2 Riches rail jam. Top finishers in each category will be awarded prizes from our event sponsors including EC Headwear, Line Skis, Monster Energy, Rome SDS and Smith Optics. Rails 2 Riches is scheduled for December 11 and features a $15,000 cash purse.
Competition divisions will be offered for male and female, skiers and riders. Registration and rider check in opens at 9 a.m. at the K-1 Lodge. Pre-registration is open and entry fees cost $15.
