Colorado’s Popular Breckenridge Ski Resort Opens Friday

Breckenridge, CO – Colorado’s Breckenridge Ski Resort will welcome the 2010-11 season with a kick-off celebration this Friday when the Colorado SuperChair, 5 Chair and Rip’s Ride lifts start running at 9:00 a.m., preceded by the BreckConnect Gondola at 8:00 a.m.nSkiers and Riders are invited to come early and celebrate at this year’s breakfast, featuring servings of the resort’s new menu offering, “BreckBerry French Toast” free to the first 1,000 skiers and riders starting at 8:30 a.m. at the new Ski Hill Grill at the base of Peak 8. Follow up breakfast with the first turns of the season on Peak 8 or spend the day in upper Park Lane.

Friday also marks the Grand Opening Celebration for One Ski Hill Place, a RockResort. This luxury ski-in/ski-out property is located at the base of Peak 8 and has four chairlifts located out the back door, plus immediate access to town, as it sits right at the top of the BreckConnect Gondola.

Friday also marks the grand opening of the Breckenridge Gold Runner Coaster located at the base of Peak 8. Guests can attend the ribbon cutting at noon then ride single (or with a friend) down 2,500 feet of elevated track of hairpin curves and twists between ski runs. The cost is $15 for a single ride.

Additional skier services available this weekend will include lift ticket sales, rental operations and food service at Ski Hill Grill, at the base of Peak 8 as well as ticket sales at the BreckConnect Gondola. Parking will be free all weekend in the North and South Gondola lots. Starting Monday, parking in the Gondola Lots will cost $5 Monday through Thursday and $10 on weekends and holidays. Rates at Beaver Run will be $15 daily and $20 on holidays. Carpooling with four people or more in a vehicle earns a $5 discount on parking at the Gondola Lots and Beaver Run Lot.
