Taylors Falls, MN – The calendar may still say November, but one Midwest ski area has already hit full operation with all trails open.nWild Mountain in Minnesota today opened the last of those trails still closed, the first ski area in the northern hemisphere to reach 100% operation. Located on the banks of the St. Croix River in Taylors Falls, northeast of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, the ski area was also the first to open for the season in the Midwest in late October. It’s the 35th winter in a row that Wild Mountain has claimed that title.
“We are proud to announce that we are going to be 100 percent open tomorrow, Saturday, November 27th,” Wild Mountain’s co-owner, Amy Frischmon, announced on Friday. “Make sure you thank a snowmaker the next time you see one.”
Today also marks the first of Wild Mountain’s late night sessions this winter, when guests can ski and snowboard until 1 a.m. every Saturday night through February.
