Body of Missing Snowboarder Found in Southern California

Big Bear Lake, CA – Authorities on Friday located the body of a 22-year-old Santee, Calif. man in Big Bear Lake. Bryson Paul Lukacik disappeared on a Thanksgiving weekend snowboarding trip to the Southern California resort town.nA man clearing snow from a vacation rental property found Lukacik’s body half a mile from the cabin he was renting with friends.

Lukacik was believed to have been wandering around the San Bernardino National Forest before freezing to death. Earlier in the day, he is reported to have suffered a head injury after colliding with another skier or snowboarder at an unnamed Big Bear Lake-area ski resort.

Later that night, friends indicate that Lukacick became progressively more disoriented. He was said to have wandered out into the cold looking for his home wearing only a sweater and denim jeans, and sheriff’s deputies and volunteers thereafter conducted an extensive search of the area for Lukacick.
