Wasatch Powderbirds Opens with Record Bookings, Record Snow

Snowbird, UT – Wasatch Powderbird Guides, a heli-skiing and snowboarding operation based at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in Utah, opened its 2010-2011 season on Dec. 15 to record pre-season reservations and over 200 inches of accumulated snow this season to date.nPowderbird offers a high-end travel and adventure service, and consumer confidence is closely related to advanced reservation bookings at Powderbird, which have seen a downward trend the past three seasons. Prior to Dec. 15, the heli operator received 440 reservations, compared to 252 the previous season and 238 the year before. The high amount of early season snowfall is likely to be a source of increased heli-skiing interest as well.

“Powderbird is very excited to experience such a high amount of early season interest in heli-skiing trips,” says CEO Rusty Dassing. “We anticipate a winter of excellent backcountry conditions, and look forward to sharing unforgettable heli-ski and snowboard adventures with guests to our Snowbird and Canyons Resort bases.”
