British Skier Dies in Val d’Isere Avalanche

Val d’Isere, France – A British skier vacationing in France was killed Sunday in an avalanche in Val d’Isere.nDavid Robinson, 67, and his wife Chrissy, both of Hamble in the U.K., were both swept up in the slide in the Combe du Signal. Both were reportedly expert skiers.

Both were on a guided ski expedition when the incident occurred. Chrissy Robinson managed to inflate an avalanche airbag and was quickly located by rescuers. David Robinson failed to deploy his airbag, and his body was located with the help of avalanche transceivers.

Arrangements are currently being made to return Robinson’s body to the U.K. for burial.
