Les Deux Alpes, France – A Briton vacationing in France with family members was killed last Thursday when he skied into a rock in the resort town of Les Deux Alpes.nJohn Atkinson, 63, from Wiltshire in the U.K., was skiing with his two adult children on a groomed intermediate run when he crashed into the rock beside the trail. It was reportedly snowing at the time and visibility was limited when a passer-by found him laying unconscious in the snow.

Two doctors attended to the victim at the scene, where he was pronounced dead. An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Atkinson was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
