Park City, UT – Park City Mountain Resort’s Eagle Superpipe opened today after extensive man hours prepping the former Utah Olympic venue.n“We’ve spent endless man hours building the Superpipe over the last few weeks, even though Mother Nature threw us a few curve balls, we are stoked to be able to open the first superpipe in Utah,” said Jeremy Cooper, terrain park manager for Park City Mountain Resort. “We anticipate the pipe getting a lot of use in the next few weeks with top-level athletes preparing for the competition season. We will now move our efforts and energy to completing the Three Kings Terrain Park as well as building the King’s Crown Park.”

Park City Mountain Resort’s Eagle Superpipe was one of the first 22-foot pipes in North America. It is the first and largest Superpipe to open in Utah for the 2010-11 ski and snowboard season. The award winning superpipe, where 2010 U.S. Olympic Halfpipe team was named, will entertain the masses once again when the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships come to Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resorts, Feb. 2-5.

Park City Mountain Resort has recently expanded night operations, to include the newly introduced Three Kings Terrain Park. Three Kings Terrain park covers Quiksilver, Three Kings and Pick N Shovel runs and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The park currently includes five 30-45 foot jumps and over 20 jib features. Additional jumps and jib features will be expanded in the coming weeks on the Pick N Shovel Run. The resort is also home to the Ridge Terrain Park with eight jumps and 11 jibs designed for the beginner terrain park skier or rider.

Building of the King’s Crown Terrain Park is scheduled to begin this Sunday. The King’s Crown Terrain Park will host the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships Slopestyle competition Feb. 3 before opening to the public.
