Denver, CO – Steve Bellamy, Chairman and CEO of The Ski Channel television network, on Friday announced that the network has founded its own Hall of Fame and that its first inductees are director Greg Stump and his masterpiece ski film, “Blizzard of Aahhh’s.”nThe induction ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. tonight at The Ski Channel Film Festival in the Colorado Convention Center in Downtown Denver. The brief ceremony will be followed by the screening of Blizzards’ sequel “Legends of Aahhh’s,” which has been 10 years in the making.
Blizzard of Aahhh’s was recently named the #1 ski film of all time as voted by over 100 influential members of the ski and snowboard industry. Five of Stump’s other films were also featured highly on the list.
“Blizzard changed the space in every imaginable way,” said Bellamy. “The stars — Glen Plake, Mike Hattrup, Scott Schmidt — and Stump’s narration added a cool factor that had never been had in films in the space. It was timed perfectly with the proliferation of the VCR, which gave kids the ability to watch it over and over…and they did!”
