College Student Dies of Injuries from Copper Mountain Skiing Accident

Denver, CO – A 21-year-old Milwaukee, Wisc. man attending college in Denver died Friday from injuries sustained in a skiing accident at Colorado’s Copper Mountain on Jan. 25.nAccording to the Summit County Coroner’s office, Joe Lubar was skiing Copper’s Schaefer’s Run, rated with a double black diamond, when he fell and tumbled through rocks, sustaining head injuries. Lubar was taken to St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center in Frisco, Colo., before being transferred to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver, where he was pronounced dead on Friday.

Lubar was a student attending classes at Denver University.
