Boy Dies Skiing at Minnesota’s Spirit Mountain

Duluth, MN – A 12-year-old boy from Grantsburg, Wisc., died while skiing Friday afternoon at Spirit Mountain in Duluth.nDuluth police say that the unnamed boy was found after 4 p.m. along the edge of trees lining a ski trail halfway down the mountain, not breathing and with obvious signs of trauma. He was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The boy was visiting Spirit Mountain with a church group from Wisconsin. Duluth police are asking any witnesses to the incident to contact them at (218) 730-5050.
