Boy Falls From Alberta Ski Lift

Kananaskis Valley (AB), Canada – An eight-year-old boy is in a Calgary hospital recovering from injuries after falling nearly 30 feet from a chairlift Sunday afternoon at Nakiska Ski Resort in the Kananaskis Valley.nThe boy was airlifted to Alberta Children’s Hospital following the 3 p.m. incident during which the victim was riding a quad chair with two other children and an adult. Nakiska officials indicate that the safety restraint bar was lowered at the time of the accident, and the boy first dangled by his goggles before plunging to the snow below.

The accident mimics a similar incident in March 2010 when a 10-year-old boy fell from a Nakiska chairlift. The condition of the victim in Sunday’s incident is unavailable at press time.
