Frisco, CO – A 32-year-old Redford Township, Mich. man died last Wednesday while skiing at Arapahoe Basin ski area in Colorado.nMichael Bettley was a Redford Township firefighter. The Summit County coroner indicates that the victim was traveling at a high rate of speed around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when he lost control and tumbled, sustaining blunt force chest trauma. He was already in cardiac arrest when ski patrol arrived on the scene.

Bettley was airlifted to Summit County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
