Aspen Lift Tickets Hit $104

Aspen, CO – Lift tickets to the four Aspen ski and snowboard resorts of Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass have hit $104 this week, exceeding for the first time a $100 threshold that company officials just three months ago indicated would not be surpassed this season.nLift tickets issued by Aspen Skiing Co. reached $99 in December, and at that time company officials indicated that they would not exceed $100 this season. However, the Aspen Times is reporting this week that the walk-up window rate at the company’s ski resorts is now being charged at $104.

Ski resort officials told the newspaper that they re-evaluated their walk-up ticket rate over the President’s Week holiday. Vail Mountain, also in Colorado, is charging a $105 walk-up rate to earn the dubious distinction of the highest lift ticket price in the U.S. Ski area officials stress that most customers opt to obtain discounts off the single-day price by purchasing a multi-day lift ticket.
